Softball Game Preview: Tussey Mountain Titans vs. Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels

The Tussey Mountain Titans will take on the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tussey Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Tussey Mountain came up short against Claysburg-Kimmel and fell 6-1. The Titans have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Tussey Mountain saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adyson Weyandt, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Moshannon Valley). They never let Williamsburg get on the board and left with a 21-0 win on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Moshannon Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tussey Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Tussey Mountain beat Moshannon Valley 4-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Knights/Damsels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
