Anthony has no trouble against Santa Teresa

Recap: Anthony Wildcats vs. Santa Teresa Desert Warriors

The Anthony Wildcats waltzed into their contest Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Santa Teresa 51-37. The victory was all the more spectacular given Anthony's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1159th in Texas, while Santa Teresa is ranked 100th in New Mexico).

Santa Teresa lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adrian Luna, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Luna has scored all season. Miguel Cano was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds.

Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Santa Teresa, they now have a losing record at 3-4.

Anthony won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Canutillo at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Canutillo is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Santa Teresa and Fabens will face off at 10:30 a.m. on December 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
