Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newman Grove/St. Edward). They took their game on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 64-15 victory over the Elba Bluejays. With that win, the Panthers brought their scoring average up to 50.4 points per game.

Leading Newman Grove/St. Edward to victory were Anthony Reader and Triton Sindelar. Reader went 9 for 17 on his way to 21 points and three steals, while Sindelar went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and five steals. Sindelar is becoming a predictor of Newman Grove/St. Edward's success: when he posts at least five steals the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Marcos Paez, who posted eight points.

Newman Grove/St. Edward was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elba only posted three assists.

Despite the loss, Elba saw an underclassman step up: freshman Garrett Wells had eight points and three steals.

Newman Grove/St. Edward pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Elba, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Newman Grove/St. Edward will host Twin River at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Newman Grove/St. Edward has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Elba, they will welcome Palmer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
