Volleyball Recap: Gaston Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Gaston Christian lost against Gaston Day last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-20, 11-25, 25-21.

Gaston Christian's offense was headlined by Stella Absher and Piper Riley, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Madelyn Pierce and her 16 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Ava Blanton was the offensive standout of the match as she had 20 digs and three assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Gaston Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Gaston Day, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1.
