Conestoga took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Benson, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Conestoga's defense stepped up to hand Benson a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. Give Conestoga's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Conestoga now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Benson, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Conestoga will take on rival Nebraska City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Benson is set to face off against their familiar foe Burke at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
