Softball Recap: Farmington Beats Pleasant Grove for Their Fifth Straight Win

Farmington had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 9-4 victory over the Pleasant Grove Vikings. While the Phoenix didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Ruby Andrus was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.

Farmington was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Farmington's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, the defeat snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 8-2 record.

Farmington and Pleasant Grove will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time Farmington sees the field they'll take on Fremont at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Pleasant Grove, their break will end when they face Skyridge at 3:30 p.m. on April 8.
