Softball Recap: Northeast Eagles vs. Clarksville Wildcats
Northeast extended their losing streak to 16 on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-16. They lost 24-0 to the Clarksville Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 9-2 loss on April 9th.
As for Clarksville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games.
For Clarksville's part, nobody will forget Maddi White's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Northeast's batters): she turned in a perfect game. White has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kenzie White, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since April 6th. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Fox, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
As of now, neither Northeast nor Clarksville have any future games scheduled.
