Baseball Recap: Slaton Comes Up Short

Slaton fell victim to Shallowater and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-1 back in March.

Slaton has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13-1 record this season. As for Shallowater, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Slaton will square off against rival Idalou at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Shallowater is set to take on their familiar foe Dimmitt at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
