Baseball Recap: Madison Comes Up Short

Madison suffered their closest defeat since March 15th on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Coronado Islanders by a score of 2-0. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Colin Gallagher was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

Madison's loss dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Coronado, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

While Madison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
