Football Game Preview: Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson Mustangs vs. Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua Scotties

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson has gone 8-2 against Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mustangs will head out to take on the Scotties at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Shelby 54-0. That 54 point margin sets a new team best for the Mustangs this season.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lane Spencer out in front who rushed for 94 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Those 94 rushing yards gave Spencer a new career-high. Kazner Oxarart was another key signal caller, throwing for 87 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Conrad as they made off with a 26-0 victory. The Scotties pushed the score to 20-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cowboys had little chance of recovering from.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson better focus on containing Khye Gamas and Wyatt Sugg as the pair were huge in Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua's win. Gamas rushed for 150 yards and two scores on only ten carries, while Sugg rushed for 119 yards and one TD on only nine carries. Sugg got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Conrad to a completion percentage of just 14.8%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Cody Kuka and Tayven Bietz, who each logged one passes deflected. Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.25 or higher in three consecutive games.

Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Gamas.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson's record now sits at 8-0. As for Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua, their record is now an identical 8-0.

Malta/Whitewater/Saco/Dodson took their win against Glasgow/Hinsdale/Nashua when the teams last played back in September of 2024 by a conclusive 48-26 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
