Basketball Recap: Victory Baptist Takes a Loss

After soaring to 71 points the game before, Victory Baptist was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. The contest between them and the Franklin Road Christian Minutemen didn't end well, with the Victory Baptist Warrior falling 48-29.

Despite the loss, Victory Baptist still got an impressive performance from Dontaye Bell, who went 5 of 6 en route to 12 points.

Franklin Road Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pierre DeShields led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. DeShields is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Walker, who posted 13 points and five boards.

Victory Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Franklin Road Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-10.

Victory Baptist wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-46 victory against Valley Christian Academy on the 30th. As for Franklin Road Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-63 defeat against Suburban Christian on the 30th.
