Basketball Recap: Appleton City's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Appleton City lost against Osceola two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Appleton City Bulldogs took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Osceola Indians. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Indians 17-12 in the first quarter.

Osceola was led to victory by Laney Uchtman and Taryn Wood. Uchtman almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine boards, while Wood went 6 for 13 on her way to 17 points and five steals. The dominant performance gave Wood a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Bella Hamby, who posted six points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

The defeat snapped Appleton City's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-6 record. As for Osceola, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
