Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Gold Takes a Loss

IMG Academy Gold's tournament run continued when they took on American Heritage on Tuesday. The Ascenders fell just short of the Stallions by a score of 4-3. The Ascenders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rondy Bryant was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, IMG Academy Gold saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Shindo, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Dante Caridi also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

IMG Academy Gold's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for American Heritage, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

IMG Academy Gold wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 loss against Pembroke Pines Charter on the 27th. As for American Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-4 defeat against Palmetto on the 27th.
