Baseball Game Preview: St. Cloud Bulldogs vs. Hagerty Huskies

St. Cloud is 0-5 against Hagerty since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The two teams will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

St. Cloud managed to slip by Lake Nona the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. St. Cloud came up short against Lake Nona on Tuesday, falling 11-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

St. Cloud saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Kelley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday Hagerty's undefeated season almost came to an end. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Oviedo a 1-0 shutout.

St. Cloud's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Hagerty, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Hagerty's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Cloud hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Hagerty, though, as they've only averaged .247. Will they be able to contain St. Cloud's hitters?

St. Cloud might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Hagerty in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can St. Cloud avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
