Woodland has gone a perfect 5-0 against Gardner-South Wilmington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Warriors will welcome the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Woodland is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.

The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won three contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Maddie Simms made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 4-for-5.

In other batting news, Kayla Scheuber was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Nina Siano was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Gardner-South Wilmington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Gardner-South Wilmington is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Woodland took their win against Gardner-South Wilmington in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-3 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
