Basketball Game Preview: Rockingham County Cougars vs. South Stokes Sauras

The Rockingham County Cougars just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the South Stokes Sauras at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rockingham County is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 68 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Asheboro on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Blue Comets, falling 65-23. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered since January 27th.

Meanwhile, South Stokes strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They skirted past McMichael 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sauras have posted since February 4th.

Rockingham County's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. Those road defeats can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.4 points over those games. As for South Stokes, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Rockingham County came up short against South Stokes when the teams last played back in November of 2015, falling 70-65. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
