Volleyball Game Preview: McDonald Blue Devils vs. Columbiana Clippers

The McDonald Blue Devils will face off against the Columbiana Clippers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as McDonald comes in on six and Columbiana on five.

On Thursday, McDonald was able to grind out a solid victory over Jackson-Milton, taking the game 3-1.

The win didn't come easy: Jackson-Milton scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Columbiana made easy work of Southern on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Columbiana was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-12, 25-15.

McDonald's record is now 15-3. As for Columbiana, their record now sits at 18-1.

Everything went McDonald's way against Columbiana in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as McDonald made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
