Softball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Liberty Christian Academy extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 2-12 in the process. They came up short against Madison Christian, falling 23-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, Liberty Christian Academy's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Madison Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Madison Christian's part, Lexi Miles made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Miles a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Miles is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Madison Christian got a massive performance out of Bella Larocca, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with five runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Larocca a new career-high. Chloe Rice was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Coming up, Liberty Christian Academy will host Northside Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.09 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. Madison Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
