Macon County had won eight straight games and Morgan Cochran did her part to make it nine on Saturday. The Macon County Bulldogs escaped with a win against the Marion County Eagles by the margin of a single free throw, 54-53 thanks in part to Cochran, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. Cochran is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Marion County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jamaya Crumbley, who posted eight points along with 11 boards and four steals. Crumbley continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Valencia Alridge was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Macon County pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Marion County, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Macon County will take on Chattahoochee County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Marion County, they will challenge Schley County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marion County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
