Softball Recap: Hays Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Hays had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Cedar Park on Tuesday. Hays blew past Cedar Park 15-5. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Gabriella Lopez, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Villegas, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

Lopez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Hays kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.

Hays' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Cedar Park, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
