Softball Recap: Howell Drops Highest Score of Season Against Toms River North

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Howell). They blew past the Toms River North Mariners 19-4 on Thursday. The Rebels have beaten the Mariners the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Mariners has come to flipping the script.

Howell's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Toms River North, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Coming up, Howell will square off against Pinelands Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. As for Toms River North, they will head out on the road to take on Wall Township at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.
