Baseball Recap: Vian Wins Going Away Against Fort Gibson

The Vian Wolverines made easy work of the Fort Gibson Tigers on Friday and carried off a 12-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Michael Polecat was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dante Glass, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Vian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Gibson only posted a batting average of .000.

Vian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fort Gibson, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13.

Vian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Gibson, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Verdigris on the 31st.
