Basketball Recap: Boonville Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Boonville walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Notre Dame de Sion Storm 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since December 7, 2024.

Notre Dame de Sion's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Abby Wendte and Terryn Ford. Wendte went 7-for-14 on her way to 15 points and seven boards, while Ford posted 11 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Ford a new career-high in steals.

Boonville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. The loss snapped Notre Dame de Sion's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 16-12 record.

Looking ahead, Boonville will face off against Benton on Saturday. One thing working in Benton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups. Notre Dame de Sion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
