Volleyball Recap: Isabella Garcia's Big Game Can't Quite Lead West Mesa over Organ Mountain

West Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Organ Mountain Knights. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Knights when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 25-19.

West Mesa lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isabella Garcia, who had three digs and two aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Delilah Stidham, who had ten kills and five blocks.

West Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Organ Mountain, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.

Coming up, West Mesa will square off against Albuquerque at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Organ Mountain, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Rio Rancho on the 3rd.
