Baseball Recap: Port Allegany's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Port Allegany extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 13-2 in the process. Everything went their way against the Cameron County Raiders as they made off with a 15-5 win. Considering the Gators have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kellen Veilleux was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Tyler Fillhart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

As for Cameron County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

On Cameron County's side, Boden Pearsall was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Shaffer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Looking ahead, Port Allegany will square off against Johnsonburg at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cameron County, they will face off against Otto-Eldred at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Raiders are facing the Terrors at the right time seeing as the Terrors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
