Softball Recap: Armwood Has No Trouble Against Blake

After only two runs in their last game, Armwood made sure to put some runs up on the board against Blake on Thursday. The Hawks were the clear victors by a 27-19 margin over the Yellow Jackets. Considering the Hawks have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Armwood got a massive performance out of Justine Smith, who went 5-for-6 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. Those two triples gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Ankers, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, five runs, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Armwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 27 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Armwood's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Blake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Armwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-5 loss against Tampa Bay Tech on the 15th. As for Blake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 15-10 victory against Freedom on the 15th.
