Basketball Recap: Balboa Comes Up Short

Balboa lost against DME Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bengals lost 83-62 to the -. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bengals came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the - are ranked 79th).

Balboa dropped their record down to 7-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for DME Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Balboa will take on Tournament Opponent in a holiday battle at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. DME Academy will take on Mt. Zion Prep Academy in a holiday battle on Saturday.
