Recap: Turners Falls vs. Pioneer Valley Regional
In their previous meeting, Turners Falls delivered Pioneer Valley Regional a punishing 30 - 7 defeat. Turners Falls came out of the rematch with the result it wanted, but it took a lot more work this time around. Turners Falls came out on top in a nail-biter against Pioneer Valley Regional, sneaking past 18 - 16. This is the playoffs, so every win is a meaningful one.
Pioneer Valley Regional's defense put the team in a good position heading into the break, holding Turners Falls to a measly six points. That put Pioneer Valley Regional at a 8 - 6 advantage. It fell behind in the second half, however, scoring eight to Turners Falls's 12.
The win got Turners Falls up to 6-4. Pioneer Valley Regional's record fell to 5-4 after the loss.
Both Turners Falls and Pioneer Valley Regional will be guarding their home fields in their upcoming games. Pioneer Valley Regional will battle it out against Franklin County Tech on Thursday at 10:00 AM. This will be the second home game in a row for Pioneer Valley Regional. Meanwhile, Turners Falls will square off against Greenfield this Thursday at 10:30 AM.
