Basketball Recap: Cannon County's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Cannon County had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They strolled past the Community Vikings/Viqueens with points to spare, taking the game 75-58. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while the Vikings/Viqueens are ranked 319th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cannon County is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.5 points per game. As for Community, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cannon County will venture away from home to take on Franklin County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Community, they will head out on the road to challenge Grundy County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
