Basketball Recap: Edison Chargers vs. Clyde Fliers

After flying high against the St. Paul Flyers last Tuesday, the Edison Chargers came back down to earth. Edison took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fliers on Wednesday. Edison has struggled against the Fliers recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jorja Byington, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Taylor Moore was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five steals.

Clyde got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taitum Jeffrey out in front who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kenzlie Guhn, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Edison has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Clyde, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-12.

Edison will be playing at home against the Crimson Flashes at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Willard will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Clyde, they will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Streaks at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Sandusky will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
