Basketball Recap: Southern California Academy Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jackson-Reed

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern California Academy). They secured a 76-72 W over the Jackson-Reed Tigers on Saturday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Rams' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 89th in California, while the Tigers are ranked second in District of Columbia).

The victory made it two in a row for Southern California Academy and bumps their season record up to 3-3. As for Jackson-Reed, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-4.

Southern California Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-42 defeat against DeMatha on the 29th. As for Jackson-Reed, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Jackson-Reed Tigers duke it out with the Phelps Architecture, Construction & Engineering Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jackson-Reed's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last ten contests.
