Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Raiders vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons

Northeast is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Academy for Classical Education a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 3:30 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Northeast and Southwest faced off in a cross-town battle on Friday. Northeast had to suffer through a 80-45 loss at the hands of Southwest. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-18.

Meanwhile, Academy for Classical Education came up short against Bleckley County on Friday and fell 58-46. While losing is never fun, the Gryphons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Royals are ranked 227th).

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Academy for Classical Education, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Northeast skirted past Academy for Classical Education 51-48 when the teams last played back in January. Will Northeast repeat their success, or does Academy for Classical Education have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
