Softball Recap: Lyons Wins Going Away Against Valley

While Lyons put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Valley. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Vikings. The Lions have beaten the Vikings the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Vikings has come to flipping the script.

Not much got past Gretta Wynja, who gave up just a hit to keep Valley off the board.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dahlia Oviatt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ava Vasquez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Lyons was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .433 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Lyons' record now sits at 14-5. As for Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Lyons will venture away from home to square off against Strasburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last ten games. As for Valley, they will host Weld Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
