Volleyball Recap: Tri-State Christian Takes a Loss

Tri-State Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Quad Cities Christian Eagles, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

While Tri-State Christian was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Quad Cities Christian's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-17.

Kennedy Duenser paced Tri-State Christian's offense, picking up five kills. Duenser got some help from Emma Hilborn and her 14 assists. Hilborn was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Quad Cities Christian was led to victory by Jordan Britton and Maddy Bollinger. Britton had nine digs and three aces, while Bollinger had 15 digs and seven aces. That's the most digs Bollinger has posted over her last three matches.

Tri-State Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Quad Cities Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Tri-State Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against Unity Christian on the 23rd. As for Quad Cities Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Princeville on the 20th.
