American Heritage has gone a perfect 4-0 against Spanish River recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The American Heritage Stallions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Spanish River Sharks at 6:30 p.m. American Heritage is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Last Saturday, American Heritage didn't have quite enough to beat Pine Crest and fell 7-5.
American Heritage got a good showing from Anthony Toscano, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Toscano gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.
On the hitting side, Ryan Ashley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Spanish River ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dr. Joaquin Garcia, sneaking past 7-6. The victory continues a trend for the Sharks in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Jesse Chimenti and Domenic Salter were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Chimenti tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Salter pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chimenti also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Spanish River is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 5-6 otherwise. At the plate, Chimenti scored a run while going 1-for-5, while Salter scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, Salter posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
In other pitching news, Cam Brooks looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Sean Beaulieu, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Shane Price was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
American Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Spanish River, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
American Heritage beat Spanish River 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will American Heritage repeat their success, or does Spanish River have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
