Basketball Recap: Buchholz Falls Despite Big Games from Evan Walker and Peyton Warring

Buchholz lost against Fleming Island back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The game between the Buchholz Bobcats and the Fleming Island Golden Eagles didn't end well, with the Buchholz Bobcats falling 68-49.

Despite the defeat, Buchholz had strong showings from Peyton Warring, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards, and Evan Walker, who went 6 of 11 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Warring a new career-high.

Fleming Island found their leader in sophomore Carson Crawford, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. Crawford is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games he's played. Christian Williams was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Buchholz dropped their record down to 13-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fleming Island, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Buchholz didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 55-53 defeat against Forest on the 5th. Fleming Island has also already played their next contest, an 81-44 victory against Middleburg on the 5th.
