Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christian Educational Consortium). They were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over the Highlands Latin Highlanders on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cougars needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Sam McCall and Mason Swift dominated on the mound. McCall pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit, while Swift pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. McCall has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Josh Geddes was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Xander Collins, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Christian Educational Consortium always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands Latin only posted an OBP of .364.

Christian Educational Consortium's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-18. As for Highlands Latin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

As of now, neither Christian Educational Consortium nor the Highlanders have any future games scheduled.
