The South County Stallions are taking a road trip to square off against the Lake Braddock Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
South County is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Woodson: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Stallions blew the Cavaliers out of the water with a 47-13 final score. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Dylan Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 322 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 34 yards. His passing production has been exceptional as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 320 passing yards. South County also got a significant boost from Austin Richardson, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 107 yards.
South County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Jack Colegate, Zach Link, and Richardson picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Lake Braddock made easy work of West Potomac on Friday and carried off a 40-14 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bruins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Wolverines are ranked 116th).
South County better keep an eye on Tyrone Jackson. He was instrumental in Lake Braddock's win, throwing for 241 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 43 yards and one score. Those 43 rushing yards gave Jackson a new career-high. Samuel Rhye was another key player, rushing for 122 yards and one touchdown.
Lake Braddock's record is now 7-0. As for South County, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
The upcoming matchup will be a clash of competing strengths. South County has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 333 passing yards per game. Lake Braddock, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 160.1 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
South County came up short against Lake Braddock in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 22-14. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Bruins' Payton Holmes, who rushed for 171 yards.
