Basketball Recap: Mckenna Durrant Key Part of a Team Effort in Warhawks Win

Ridgevue saw some tournament action on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over the Burley Bobcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warhawks.

Ridgevue's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but McKenna Durrant led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Durrant is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played. Hollund Miller was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Ridgevue smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Burley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Adalynn Olmos went 8 of 13 on her way to 17 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruby Taylor, who posted five points and seven rebounds.

Ridgevue has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Burley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2.

Ridgevue wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 45-15 win against Emmett on the 3rd. As for Burley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-50 defeat against McCall-Donnelly on the 3rd.
