Basketball Recap: Joppatowne Mariners vs. Fallston Cougars
The Joppatowne Mariners won the last time they faced the Fallston Cougars, and things went their way on Friday too. Joppatowne took down the Cougars 70-52.
Joppatowne found their leader in underclassman Kishann Smith, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Damian Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Joppatowne has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Fallston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.
Joppatowne will head out on the road to take on the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Bel Air's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Fallston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hawks at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. North Harford is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
