Basketball Recap: Fallston Takes a Loss

Fallston has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 51-42 to the Greater Grace Christian Academy Eagles on Thursday.

Despite the loss, Fallston still got an impressive performance from Brooke Bolesta, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 15 boards. Bolesta has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maura Lawall, who posted two points in addition to seven assists, five rebounds, and five steals.

Even though they lost, Fallston smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in 43 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Nickole Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greater Grace Christian Academy, putting up 25 points. The dominant performance gave Lee a new career-high in points. Saleigha Fennel was another key player, scoring 13 points.

Fallston's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Coming up, Fallston will challenge North Harford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greater Grace Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
