Basketball Preview: Family Christian Academy Lions vs. Geneva Knights
Family Christian Academy hasn't had much luck against Geneva recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Family Christian Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to West Melbourne Christian Academy.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Abram Jackson, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Brand, who shot 42% from the field en route to 15 points and seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Geneva fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Cocoa Beach on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. The matchup marked the Knights' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Geneva fell to 4-1. As for Family Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Things could have been worse for Family Christian Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-42 loss to Geneva when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
