The Jaguars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Maroons on Tuesday, sneaking past 1-0. Ankeny Centennial's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four matchups.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Adeline Kroska, who's now up to four this season.

Four must be Mason City's lucky number: they beat St. Edmond with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Mohawks blew past the Gaels 4-1. Mason City might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by three goals or more this season.

Ankeny Centennial's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Mason City, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.

Ankeny Centennial took their win against Mason City when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
