Recap: Madill Wildcats vs. Byng Pirates

The Madill Wildcats were the 39-38 winner over the Byng Pirates when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Madill took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Byng on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Madill has scored all season.

Madill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Wilkerson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Jd Runyan who scored two points along with eight rebounds and two steals. That was a full 64.3% of Madill's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Even though they lost, Madill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Madill's loss dropped their record down to 20-3. As for Byng, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Madill will take on Dickson at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Byng, they will head out on the road to square off against Latta at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
