Baseball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Davenport North Wildcats, falling 16-4. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 13-3 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Davenport North, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will head out to take on Hempstead at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Davenport North, they will venture away from home to face off against Clinton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The River Kings' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
