Baseball Recap: Yulee Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Yulee proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 14) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Duval Charter Panthers 7-5. That's more bragging rights for the Hornets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Crosby Kotopka looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Josh McCormick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Kenny Schweitzer was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Yulee's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Yulee will square off against Covenant School of Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Duval Charter, they will host Ribault at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
