Recap: Ripon Indians vs. Escalon Cougars
The Ripon Indians came tearing into Friday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points) and they left with even more momentum. They skirted past Escalon 52-49. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Ripon has posted yet this season.
Dawson Downs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Logan Lefebvre, who scored eight points along with six assists and two steals.
Ripon's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Escalon, their loss dropped their record down to 14-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ripon will take on Hughson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hughson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 927th, while Ripon is ranked 369th). As for Escalon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Livingston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
