Sugar-Salem had already won 15 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 16 on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Homedale Trojans. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 8-1 victory on Friday.

Dawson McInelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Will Chappell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sam Chappell, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI.

Sugar-Salem pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. As for Homedale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season.
