Football Recap: Medford Raiders vs. Wausau East Lumberjacks
Medford managed to keep up with Wausau East until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Raiders lost 31-8 to the Lumberjacks. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lumberjacks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
It was another big night for Iain Stahel, who rushed for 161 yards while picking up 7.7 yards per carry for Wausau East. Those 161 rushing yards gave Stahel a new career-high. Tanner Kostroski also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Medford's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Wausau East, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Medford is set to challenge their familiar foe Tomahawk at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wausau East will square off against rival Merrill at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
