Basketball Recap: School of the Woods Takes a Loss

School of the Woods and Annapolis Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but School of the Woods had to settle for second. They took a 50-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why School of the Woods lost, don't look at Adam Zagaar. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Truitt Torgerson, who had six points.

Annapolis Christian Academy was led to victory by Jake Gwaltney and Jeremiah Cavazos. Gwaltney dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Cavazos earned 15 points along with seven assists and seven boards. Gwaltney is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 21 games he's played. Noah Riojas was another key player, putting up eight points.

School of the Woods' loss dropped their record down to 28-7. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 18-12.

School of the Woods does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-32 defeat against Sunnybrook Christian on the 22nd.
